This attractive 11 mile cycle ride beween Clevedon and Weston super Mare is blocked by the River Yeo and a small section of private land. North Somerset Council intend to create the missing link - this website is about the route that will be made, and how you can support the project.
Tutshill Ear sluices -
NCN 33
You'll be able to have a family cycle ride from Clevedon to Sand Bay, or commute from Weston super Mare to Clevedon without taking the long route on the A370 main road. When the link first opens it may be unsurfaced but we press for it to be tarmacked as soon as possible so it's suitable for riding in all weathers.
Walking too - the Tutshill crossing will give ramblers more scope and variety for walks, and residents will be able to walk between Kingston Seymour and Wick St Lawrence, or further.
We welcome horse riding on these quiet country lanes and hope that it will be possible to take horses across the sluices.
Freedom from cars - we want this route and the surrounding lanes to be kept free of motor traffic apart from the essential purposes of residents and utilities. We support residents in discouraging parking in the lanes and on verges. There will be no motor access at Tutshill across the Yeo.
